Seiko 5 Singapore was introduced in 1963, unique construction include the crown located behind the 4 o’clock position. This series of watches comes with an automatic movement, 30m water resistance and day-date display. Combined with a long lasting case and bracelet, these five key features is the reason for its name. Two Seiko inventions, “Diaflex” an unbreakable alloy which the mainspring was made of and “Diashock” a system to protect the movement from shock were developed to counter shock. Last but not least, they are very reasonably priced, catering to the needs of the mass market.
